Urban Complex

HKU

Urban Complex portrays a crowded city where each character’s storyline is captured in an eleven-foot wide circular projection. The experience in a city that never sleeps is different for every individual. Some people tend to find an escape in nature, while others drift away by using musical instruments to mute the urban noises. There are many ways of dealing with the daily grind. Typical urban elements can be found in this work - from public transportation and packed bike racks, to crowded neighborhoods and stale ashtrays. Dynamics are always changing in this increasingly busy society, but no matter what, it will always keep spinning. The project Urban Complex was being showcased at the Utrecht School of Arts graduation ceremony in June 2017. We wuz there!
